How to implement the Breadcrumb control for BlogEngine

I have recieved requests on how to implement the breadcrumb control that I wrote for BlogEngine.

Here goes...

1. Download the breadcrumb control

2. Create a folder in your themes/NAME_OF_YOUR_THEME/ which you can call controls (see image)

3. Drag the breadcrumbs.cs and the breadcrumbs.ascx into the contols folder

4. Open your Site.master in design view

5. Drag the breadcrumbs.ascx file to the place where you want the breadcrumbs.

6. Save and reload your site, and presto, a breadcrumb!

Note, this only works for Pages in BlogEngine, it does not work for blog-post pages.

Hi Jonah, I modified your breadcrumbs control so that it works with blog posts and static pages (contact.aspx, archive.aspx,...). You can see a preview in my website. If you like I can send the source code to you.

Hi Jonah,

im using your BreadCrumb control in my theme. This theme is available for public download. I hope you dot not have any problems with that. The theme can be found here blog.data-worx.de/page/Theme-SilverLight.aspx

Wow - thats cool. BlogEngine.NET is not perfect from an SEO perspective, so it´s nice having a breamcrumb that improves the internal linking

Sorry, didnt work for me. This is the error Im getting:

Oh how I wish this would work!
I'm using the arthemia theme, and am unable to get this to work after hours of trying!

It gives a server error on line 52, and I am unable to figure out how to fix it.

Any advice would be highly appreciated!
